CUSTER, S.D. – Mark Van Every, Forest Supervisor, announces Brian Jackson as the new Natural Resource Staff Officer on the Black Hills National Forest. Jackson began his career as a forester on the Holly Springs National Forest in Mississippi in 2004. He has also worked as district silviculturist on the Ozark National Forest and Forest Silviculturist and stewardship coordinator on the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. In 2015, he returned to Mississippi as a Forest Silviculturist with collateral duties as soil and water program manager and forest stewardship coordinator.
“I am looking forward to joining the Black Hills National Forest team and working with all of the great partners to ensure continued restoration of the Forest’s natural resources,” said Jackson.
Jackson enjoys hunting, hiking, traveling, and being outdoors with his wife Tara and 4 year old daughter, Hannah Grace.
Jackson begins his duties on the Black Hills National Forest on November 13, 2017.
