Custer Crusin Rally Feels the Bite of Foul Weather

By Herb Ryan

Saturday’s weather in Custer was anything but ideal riding weather. Leather jackets and hoodies were the order of the day for most riders as the day progressed from cool overcast morning to a down right nasty drizzly afternoon in the surrounding area. Sundays weather is looking good with low temps of 57 climbing to a high of 77 with early overcast clouds and a 20% chance of rain. When you factor in the Custer weather variables, you could have rain near Crazy Horse which has its own weather system, hail down by four mile and maybe scorching heat on Mt Rushmore Road near the senior center. This after all, is the mystery and marvel of South Dakota weather.
